Eco-Drawing Day Retreat

  • Myponga 279 Sampson Road Myponga Beach, South Australia, 5202 Australia (map)

When was the last time you really looked at a landscape? Felt the texture and contours of the natural world beneath your feet? Paused to open your senses to the land, sky, and sea?

You’re invited to spend a day out on the land at Myponga, connecting to mindfulness and nature drawing practices to slow down, tune into the natural world, and feel nurtured through a curated day retreat experience. Facilitated by mindfulness and yoga teacher Becca Gross, and visual artist and teacher Hannah Graney, this day retreat includes a range of practices to reconnect you to the visual and felt world. You’ll meet and gather in the rustic shed at Myponga for home base. Take a tour of the big views and sheoak grove before Hannah guides you through some simple techniques to creatively capture botanicals on paper.

No art experience required, the drawing is about free expression and discovery. Becca will offer some gentle movement practice, and you’ll have expansive time for some solo creative exploration amidst the trees and horizon, with all art materials provided.

A nourishing vegan and gluten free morning tea and lunch will be provided by Sarah from Acacia Blends.

Spend the day with a group of fellow humans surrounded by sweeping open vistas, birds and plant life, nourishing food and practices you can bring home and into your life.

This retreat includes:

  • Opening circle

  • Mindful nature walk

  • Guided eco-drawing workshop

  • Nourishing morning tea & lunch

  • Nurturing and gentle movement practice

  • Closing circle and guided meditation

  • Sketchpad and drawing materials

  • Free time to explore drawing outdoors

Sun protection and sturdy walking shoes are recommended. No yoga mat needed. The Myponga shed is a working landcare space, so expect basic facilities including a long drop compost toilet.

The retreat is weather dependent and in case of extreme weather conditions, we may reschedule this event. If the retreat is rescheduled and you are unable to attend the new time, a full refund will be organised.
