Aaron James Gill

Facilitator

Aaron James Gill (he/him), or AJ as he's often known, is an Adelaide-based multidisciplinary movement practitioner whose practice brings together movement, creativity, connection and wellbeing, underpinned by formal training in contemporary dance, classical ballet, conditioning and Pilates.

Movement has been part of AJ's life since his youth, when he trained in dance, gymnastics and trampoline. After building a career across media, marketing, tourism and community experiences, he returned to movement professionally, completing Pilates teacher training with Motion Lab and conservatory-style dance training at Adelaide College of the Arts. Together, these experiences shaped an approach that combines technical understanding, creativity and a genuine appreciation for what movement can make possible.

Today, AJ's practice spans Mat and Reformer Pilates, strength and conditioning, Barre, cardio, recovery and dance, integrating breathwork and mindful movement into his teaching. His studies in anatomy, kinesiology and somatic principles inform his approach, while his training in health and nutrition coaching brings an additional dimension to his understanding of wellbeing. He is training to become a Somatic and Dance Movement Therapist, exploring the therapeutic potential of movement to support emotional wellbeing, self-expression, nervous system regulation and a deeper connection with ourselves and others.

As part of the LGBTQIA+ community, AJ is passionate about creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome to move, connect and show up as themselves. He loves to laugh and believes movement doesn't always need to be so serious. In his classes, expect thoughtful movement, challenge, plenty of encouragement, positive affirmations and a few laughs along the way. At the heart of his practice is a simple belief: movement is medicine and can build confidence, create connection, community and help us find joy in what our bodies can do.
